A Dedication ceremony is the act of presenting your child to the Lord and a time to publicly make a commitment to pray for, love and guide your child toward a personal relationship with Jesus. Dedication is not baptism; nor does it impart salvation to the child. Dedication is the parent’s commitment to God to raise the child in His ways. At Word of Life Christian Center children are dedicated according to Luke 2:22-25. Child Dedications are conducted four times a year. They are for infants and children 6 years old and younger. If you desire to have your baby or young child dedicated to the Lord, click the button below to register.
Water Baptism is an act of dipping or immersing a person in water. It is a wonderful symbolism of the believer’s identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is not, however, to be confused with or regarded as a means of salvation. Romans 10:9 says “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Once you have confessed Jesus as Lord, Water Baptism is an important corresponding step of obedience to the Word of God and an outward sign of an inward work of God’s grace in your life. “Therefore we are buried with Him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” Romans 6:4. At Word of Life Christian Center, Water Baptisms are conducted four times a year. All candidates for baptism must be at least seven (7) years old and must be born again. If you desire to be Water Baptized, watch the bulletin for upcoming dates. You may also contact our office at 645-1990 ext. 133 or firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
